Brighton

Location

Perfectly positioned along Melbourne’s famous sandbelt, no matter what type of leisure activity tickles your fancy, there’s always something to do in Brighton.

Shopping:

If you love a spot of shopping, then you’ll love Church Street. Home to a wide range of shops, simply walk around the corner to get your retail fix. Or, venture a little further afield to Chadstone the Fashion Capital, Westfield Southland or, to secure some bargains, DFO Moorabbin.

Cycling:

Take a spin on a two-wheeler and breathe in the seaside scenery of the Bay Trail. Ride the full length (69km) or choose a smaller section and stop off for a bite of lunch along the way.

Yachting:

What’s the sea for if not to set sail?    With the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and Sandringham Yacht Club on your doorstep, it’s easy to indulge your passion for the high seas.

Swimming:

If you feel like a dip, why not take a 10 minute (1km) stroll down to The Middle Brighton Baths? Over one hundred years old, the sea baths offer exercise and an important piece of Melbourne’s history.

Golf:

Have a swinging time at one of the eight picturesque golf clubs known as the Melbourne Sandbelt. You’ll be in good company – the Sandbelt has played host to some of Australia’s most important championships, including The Australian Open.

Architecture:

For those that love buildings and history, the Bayside Architecture Trail will quench both passions. Over 100 buildings complete the trail – from pioneer homes through to modern day marvels.

Other Brighton Activities

Foodies and those that like a good drop will be in heaven with the Bright N Sandy Food & Wine Festival held each March. While movie buffs will love the Bayside Film Festival that features award-winning Australian and International short films.
